2014 Symphony Under the Stars
The Season Opener of the New World Symphony is a big deal in Miami Beach cultural circles, and Saturday October 11 was no exception. Charismatic conductor Michael Tilson Thomas led an ambitious and unconventional program of 20th century works. Inside the Frank Gehry-designed New World Center, musicians mingled with dancers under a jazz-age video montage. And on the outside, CU alums enjoyed the sights and sounds of the concert while relaxing on the lawn, with the aid of a 7,000 square foot projection wall, an outdoor sound system, wine and potluck dinner.
