Sunset Cruise on Biscayne Bay November 22 2015

*** NOTE: Schedule has been updated to reflect Daylight Savings Time ***

birding_cruise.jpgEnjoy a beautiful 2-hour sunset birding cruise as we tour Biscayne Bay & scan the mangrove shoreline of the Bird Key rookery for brown pelicans, magnificent frigatebirds and more than 30 species of birds. Capture the magical view of the Miami skyline from the water . Our special guide will be Christopher Scott Boykin, the Executive Director of Pelican Harbor Seabird Station.  Chris is a well-known wildlife educator and eco-adventure leader.

We will also get a guided tour of the Pelican Harbor Seabird Station . This nonprofit facility was founded in 1980 out of a private houseboat. At first, the sole purpose was to rehabilitate  injured pelicans. Since then, more than 156 species of injured, sick or orphaned wildlife have been treated including tortoises, warblers, owls, hawks, herons, foxes, and parrots. The Seabird Station accepts all native birds, mammals and reptiles. Injured wildlife can be dropped off 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If we are lucky, we may be able to observe the release of a healed shorebird back into the wild.
