Check out these Pictures - Columbia Connects 2015

The venue for this year's COLUMBIA CONNECTS was suggested by Elvira Ferro, JD. She is a Columbia SIPA grad, an active supporter of the Columbia University Club of South Florida, and a connoisseur of fine food and wine. CC_elvira.jpgElvira found us a popular happy hour and good Italian food at CIBO Wine Bar, 45 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. CIBO Coral Gables also boasts some engaging in-house sommeliers  including Luca, who hails from Sicily, and the Flying Wine Angel, who grabs selected bottles while rappelling down the wine wall.  If you have your own great idea for a happy hour location, please let us hear.

COLUMBIA CONNECTS is the annual worldwide event that celebrates the connections between alumni and also welcomes new alums to the area. All schools and all years are welcome,  which makes for a most interesting mix of Barnard, Columbia College,  Business School, Law, Engineering, Architecture, SIPA, and GS grads.  We met folks who were returning to the area from Pakistan and from Vienna. A member of a Pennsylvania CU Alumni Chapter, Daniel Ferreira, was in town for business, so we were happy to welcome him too. Look at these smart & attractive folks!

This evening was a great opportunity to discuss and plan the year's upcoming events, including more happy hours of course; benefits for non-profits; arts activities including theater, dance, music, and Art Basel; a Biscayne Bay cruise; an architectural walking tour; seasonal celebrations, and much more.
