What is MIMO? Miami Modern (MIMO)  is a distinctive architectural style that combines Miami's glamorous tropical  flavor with post-World War II optimism and "space age" themes. One of the best known examples is the sweeping curve of the Fontainebleau Hotel at 4441 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, built by Morris Lapidus in 1954. The North Beach Historic District, from 63 to 71 Street along Collins Avenue, received historic designation in 2005. Join us on Saturday November 7 2015 for a fascinating tour of historic midcentury buildings and design. 

 Miami Design Preservation League  will lead a walking tour of the MiMo District of North Beach  from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Afterward we will be gathering for an optional lunch together at Manolo's, an inexpensive Argentine restaurant.  All Columbia/Barnard grads, friends and family are welcome to attend.
